Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy in Atlanta
Sometimes traditional talk therapy or medication isn’t enough to create the breakthrough you need. Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) offers a research-backed, holistic approach that pairs the neurological benefits of ketamine with the depth and support of psychotherapy. Together, this combination can help clients access new insights, shift long-standing emotional patterns, and experience meaningful, lasting change.
At Restore Balance Atlanta, our licensed clinicians provide the therapeutic portion of KAP while our medical partner, Journey Clinical, handles all medical evaluations, prescriptions, and ongoing monitoring. This collaborative model ensures that you receive safe, comprehensive care every step of the way.
Why Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Matters
KAP uses low-dose ketamine alongside psychotherapy to create an “expanded state” that supports neuroplasticity, emotional openness, and deeper therapeutic work. In this state, clients often find it easier to explore stuck patterns, process trauma, and integrate new ways of thinking and feeling.
People seek KAP for support with:
Treatment-resistant or persistent depression
Trauma and PTSD
Anxiety and chronic stress
Emotional overwhelm and negative thought loops
Feeling “stuck” when traditional therapy hasn’t helped
Long-term personal growth and healing
Research shows that ketamine can help “reset” neural pathways, reduce depressive symptoms, and enhance neuroplasticity. When paired with skilled integration therapy, these insights translate into long-term change.
Our Partnership With Journey Clinical
Restore Balance provides all psychotherapy and therapeutic support.
Journey Clinical provides:
Medical and psychiatric evaluation

Our Approach to KAP
Your KAP experience is individualized, trauma-informed, and grounded in safety and connection. Sessions are designed to help you feel supported, prepared, and empowered throughout the process.
1. Preparation Session
Before your first dosing session, you and your therapist meet for a dedicated preparation session (50–60 minutes) to:
Review the process
Set therapeutic goals and intentions
Create a sense of structure and safety
Discuss what to expect during the ketamine experience
Rate: $225
2. Ketamine Dosing Session
Dosing sessions last up to two hours.
During this session:
You self-administer a ketamine lozenge prescribed by Journey Clinical.
You relax in a reclined position, often with an eye mask and calming music.
Your therapist stays with you throughout the entire experience to hold space, provide emotional safety, and guide as needed.
The transformative portion typically lasts 45–60 minutes, followed by a gentle return to baseline.
Rate: $350
3. Integration Session
Integration is where healing takes root.
In these sessions (50–60 minutes), you and your therapist process:
Insights, emotions, or imagery from the dosing session
How your experience relates to current patterns or challenges
Practical ways to incorporate your insights into daily life
Preparation for future dosing sessions
Most clients complete multiple integration sessions across their treatment series.
Rate: $225
What to Expect During KAP
What Does Ketamine Feel Like?
Most clients describe the experience as calming, introspective, and expansive. During a dosing session, you may notice:
A sense of stepping back from your usual thoughts
Shifts in perception
Emotional release
New clarity or perspective
A dreamlike or meditative state
You remain safe, supported, and monitored throughout the session. Verbal abilities may be reduced temporarily, which is normal and expected. After the experience tapers, you’ll have time to process before beginning integration work.
Studies show benefits to mood, neuroplasticity, and emotional flexibility can last up to two weeks after each dosing session.
What to Expect During Your KAP Journey
Although every individual’s process is unique, you can expect:
A compassionate, judgment-free space
Thorough screening to ensure KAP is appropriate for your needs
Clear guidance on preparation, dosing, and integration
Ongoing collaboration between your therapist and Journey Clinical’s medical team
A treatment plan tailored to your goals, pace, and emotional comfort
