Meet Your Supervising Clinician
Carrie As A Supervisor
I specialize in trauma and LGBTQIA+ issues, and have worked in both outpatient and inpatient settings. I have been working in the mental health field for 7 years and decided to become a supervisor because I wanted to be able to help guide younger counselors. I find supervision to be a collaborative experience and work hard to meet my supervisees needs. I am also trained in brainspotting and am always trying to educate myself on new modalities or ways to approach therapy. I primarily come from a humanistic, psychodynamic and a person centered , but flow into other theories. I am emotion focused, and work with attachment theory, and parts in much of my counseling. I can help navigate the inpatient psych world, and the outpatient world having experience in both. I started our business with my co-owner so have experience starting and practice, navigating insurance, and many of the ins and outs of private practice. If you are interested in a consultation please reach out.

Our Supervision Style & Philosophy
Our supervision style is:
Practical and growth-oriented
Non-judgmental and relational
Collaborative rather than directive
We believe supervision should be a dialogue, not a lecture. While we honor the inherent power dynamic of supervision, we value your clinical insight, curiosity, and perspective. We approach cases holistically and encourage creative problem-solving that centers the client’s full experience.
Theoretical Foundations
Our supervision is informed by:
Attachment theory
Feminist therapy
Emotion-focused approaches
These frameworks guide how we conceptualize cases, understand relational dynamics, and support both client and clinician growth.
What Makes Supervision at Restore Balance Different
Supervisees often share that what sets our supervision apart is that we are:
Approachable and genuinely invested in your growth
Honest about how challenging this field can be
Supportive without being rigid or prescriptive
Willing to walk alongside you as you develop your own clinical voice
We aim to create a supervision space where you feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow into the therapist you want to become.
Common Topics in Supervision
Supervision sessions commonly focus on:
Case conceptualization
Documentation and progress notes
Ethical considerations
Diagnosis and evaluation
Countertransference and clinical boundaries
Burnout, sustainability, and self-care
Professional development and identity formation
How Supervision Is Structured
Supervision structure is individualized based on your licensure goals and needs. With proposed Georgia licensure rules, many supervisees will need to meet:
Weekly sessions
50–60 minutes per session
Over a two-year period to meet licensure timelines
We’ll help you determine a structure that aligns with current requirements and your professional goals.
Preparing for Supervision Sessions
To get the most out of supervision, we ask supervisees to come prepared with:
Specific case questions
Situations or sessions from the week you want to reflect on
Areas where you’d like feedback, clarity, or growth
Curiosity and honesty are always welcome.
Documentation & Tracking Hours
We provide:
Supervision logs created by LPCA of Georgia
Guidance and recommendations for tracking hours effectively
Support to ensure documentation aligns with licensure requirements
Feedback & Growth in Supervision
We believe feedback is a vital part of both supervision and the therapeutic relationship. Feedback in supervision is:
Collaborative
Respectful
Modeled intentionally
We may use discussion, reflection, resources, or role-play to support learning and growth.
Additional Resources & Learning
We regularly recommend:
Books
Podcasts
Continuing education opportunities
And if we don’t already have a resource in mind, we’ll find one.
